It's good to talk!

coffeecup.jpgIt's been so good to have some real deep and meaningful conversations with young people over the last week. It started well in Impact when small groups saw real honesty about where members were at with God, and continued as Encounter shared their issues to do with all things sexual in the evening.

But I've also had some great TaGs/one to ones where people have been really honest and vulnerable in what they've said - revealing what they are truly feeling, if you know what I mean. And they feel better for it!

God did not set anyone up to be a "lone-ranger" - look at Jesus' commitment to his disciples for a starter! - but put us in community to support and challenge one another.  So let's keep talking! Let's be open and honest with one another, and allow God to use us in marvellous ways which just might surprise us!

So if you're reading this and know there's stuff you need to get off your chest, SHOUT! (Well, not literally cos that might be inappropriate - but do give one of the team a call if you would appreciate a chat!)

On another note, there's an ALL-AGE SERVICE this Sunday morning, so no groups, but then Encounter is on its pilgrimage in the evening. Please note we leave at 6pm - and you need to bring a consent form (available to the side of this post) if you are under 18.

Encounter are holding another community action night tomorrow evening - let me know if you still wish to join us - all decorating this time!

And I have some really exciting news that we have this week appointed a female specialist part-time youth worker to the team, who will join us from Sept with the specific remit of working with you girls.  We are really excited at this development, and will let you know more when we see you!

So, as I said, let's keep talking to one another, and please talk to God too about the things above!
