As promised, here are the notes from my session on "The Beginning" at Encounter Sunday Night a few weeks ago, and the link to the story of the family in Jerusalem that Steve was talking about this last Sunday.
My notes are at the side of this post, and the link for Steve's piece is

and it's called 'Ami's story' dated 2/14/2009.
I guess the last few weeks have been a good reminder that while we KNOW something of the Kingdom, and see glimpses of it, we have to admit that we don't see enough of it.
Having said that, last Friday night when 6 of us went and decorated a bedroom ceiling and moved some curtains for a local disabled lady showed that indeed "the kingdom is near". She really brightened over the evening, and we LOVED it! So do look out for more opportunities as they come along.
And of course, my expectation is - as ever - high for the weekend away on Dartmoor over 19-21 Feb. Heatree House really has been "holy ground" over the last decade, so the 47 young people attending this year should be excited! If you're still to book, YOU MUST RETURN YOUR FORM BY THIS SUNDAY so please do so!
I've just had lunch with an American vicar from Philadelphia who is bringing a group of young people over to the UK in July and wants to meet up with Encounter - so more details will follow over the next few months. He wants us to teach them "cricket"!! Ha! And for them to see something of how we follow Jesus over here.
And it's DI tomorrow night, 5-7pm in the Youth Hall, and then NO groups on Sunday morning as it's an all-ager, but Encounter is back on Sunday night as Josh and Adi take us to "The End" as we look at the end times and eternity.
Valentine's Day on Sunday too - so at least it inspired the picture for this post! Whatever you're up to, have a great weekend/half term!
