Corporate worship is one of the central activities within the life of St Paul’s. The Worship Team primarily serves the Sunday services and various other events and comprises a dedicated group of musicians and sound and vision desk operators, together with a small team of 'actioneers', who lead the congregation in our all age action songs.
Our ministry is based on Isaiah 62:10...
Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway. Remove the stones.
Raise a banner for the nations.
As a team we are called to: (1) serve the congregation, preparing the way and leading people into a corporate time of worship, removing the obstacles that sometimes get in the way; and (2) glorify God, lifting the name of Jesus high so that people are drawn to a personal encounter with the Living God in a corporate setting. We believe that when those personal encounters happen, lives are changed.
Simply put:
The Worship Team exists to serve the congregation by leading corporate worship
in which God is glorified and lives are changed.
If you’re interested in getting involved, you need to be a committed Christian, at least 14 years old and engaged in church life here at St Paul's. 1 Chronicles 25 tells us that those assigned to ministry in the Temple were “trained and skilled”. In addition to the training and experience that comes from being a regular member of the worship team, we also offer occasional ‘one-off’ training sessions and longer-term training options.
From time to time, resources from these sessions are available to download from the ‘Files to Download’ section on the right.
If you serve on team, are interested in serving on team, or are involved in another local church, and would like training in a particular area, please get in touch and we’ll try to help if we can!
