New News...

Last weekend the news came in that the Encounter group had fulfilled the challenge of getting 20 more new bookings for the weekend away... which means the leaders have to fulfil their part of the bargain - Sophie and Steve will be doing ballet, Trev will be having his head shaved and Paul... will be eating an orange!? (he has a phobia of oranges).

Thinking ahead...

We're into the term now and thinking ahead to what we'll be looking at in Impact and Encounter, which includes the Encounter Weekend Away (book on asap).

New Term - New Theme

We had a great Sunday last week thinking about what God might want us to do and how we should move forward into this term. So we’re thinking about new themes for Impact and Encounter that will challenge us all and help us to keep focused on God in every area of our lives, more information on that this weekend!

Arriving...

So after a rather hectic Christmas move we've made it to Salisbury! It's great to be here and I'm sure I'll get to meet lots of you and forget names over the next few months...

We arrived on the 20th December to Salisbury and found that there was a slight mix up with some of our things being delivered and being stored. Our daughter had no clothes and we had no shoes - not ideal! Other than that the move has been great. We've been very blessed and know that God has had his hand on us throughout.

THANK YOU!

My "leaving do" was a complete surprise, and I can only say THANK YOU to everyone who came! It was a very special occasion, and I was especially moved by the "old timers" who travelled all the way from London especially to be there!

It was amazing to see so many silently arrive while I was upstairs, and wonderful to see old leaders as well as members there! Getting gunged was, by all accounts, pretty gross (I won't tell you where I found baked beans later that night!) but at least I've had that experience now!

The end is nigh!

Yep, can hardly believe it but with Carol Services coming on the 18th, this Sunday is our final day of programme.  So what can you look forward to?!

Well, things get underway on Friday night with the Encounter Community Meal, and we have about a dozen of our community clients attending. As usual, we're providing food, live music, and entertainment for the children. Speak to Josh if you still want to get involved.

Good times!

It was so good to experience the Encounter service last weekend! If you're yet to hear the stories and Jonti's preach, do click and listen on the home page. Many, many people have commented on it, with a few calling it "the best yet"!  The baptisms were very special (once we pinned Scott down!) - and will never be forgotten...

New Senior Youth Worker Appointed!

 P1020122.JPG

I am absolutely thrilled to be able to tell you that Trevor Meardon has been appointed as Senior Youth Worker here at St Paul's and will take up the post on January 1st!

Many thanks to everyone who has prayed, asked, and pestered me in recent months after Trev's interview. Your interest and earnest yearning for answers has been a joy - and may have led to a few vague answers as we awaited permission to release Trevor's name!  So apologies if I confused you!

PAAAARRRRTTTTY TIME! :-)

Old Encounter leaders return this Sunday

Then Sunday morning, Paul and Sophie take Impact into the Strange Idea of The Trinity, so do come along and learn and have you mind blown by the wonder of who God is!

Meanwhile, in Encounter Steve will be considering the God of Covenant, and looking in depth at God's promises to us.
