Didn't we have a lovely day, the day we went to Dartmoor?!

heatree.jpgHello Guys! My name is Martin and I am a bible student studying at Moorlands College and have had the pleasure of working with the youth department here at St.Paul’s as a six-week placement. The placement was actually brilliantly timed because I was able to join Encounter (St.Paul’s senior youth group) for their weekend away 2010!

Hearing God's voice in early morning prayer

Getting up early to pray can be hard... but Jesus did it: "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed" (Mark 1:35). However hard it is though, God is always faithful to meet his people and to speak to us. Why not join us some time to find out for yourself?

Do you prepare food at home for church events?

fsa.jpgAre you one of the many church members who occasionally caters from home for a church group or event held on the church premises? Whether you just make a cake or something more complicated don't forget that as a church we need to keep in mind the guidelines set out by the Environmental Health Department.

Meet our children.....

I realise that many of you have no clue how many children live with us and who they all are or anything useful like what they look like so here goes a mini introduction ....We have five children living with us most of the time and more during the holidays when all the cousins and friends come to visit. Flavia Nkuutu is 11, Ashiraf Banawita is 10, Peace Nkuutu is 9, Lavender Wanjala is 7 and Faith Nkuutu is 6 years old.

King's Glory Primary School

graduation.jpgHi, this is Fishy here. I thought you might be interested in hearing about King's Glory Primary School. This is a small primary school begun in a rural community about 20km from Jinja in Uganda. It is set up in a poor area where many parents dont send their children to school as they would either have to cross a very busy main road or a river..also many parents dont value education.

Treasure Island at St Paul's

400 people packed St Paul’s for David Robinson’s pantomime adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” on the evening of Tuesday 22nd December. Everything you expect from a traditional panto was included in the show, (“oh yes it was!”) with Long John Silver wooing Mrs Whalebone with Tom Jones’ hits and Captain Smollett trying some classic Cliff to win her hand. Meanwhile Jim Hawkins was taken prisoner on Treasure Island.

Carol services fill the church

Sunday 20th December saw the church fill with people 'flocking' to this year's Christmas services (excuse the Christmas pun). Seats were filled both morning and evening as families gathered for a live nativity story in the morning and people of all backgrounds worshipped together for the candlelit evening service.

Happy Christmas ETT!

We all feel a sense of generosity to one another just now as we celebrate God's generosity to us for sending the baby Jesus to come and live amongst us.

If you would like to make a spontaneous extra gift to the St Paul's ETT Project, help is at hand via our new 'Just Giving' site. Simply click here to make a donation.

Do you have friends and family staying for Christmas? Why not tell them about SP2 and ask them to try it as well?
