ETT Project Manager's Report - 26 April 2010

An update on the Enlarging The Tent (ETT) Project was given to the Annual Church Meeting on 26 April, covering Phase 1, Phase 2 and finance.

Phase 1: the extension to the church with the new foyer has made a marvellous difference to the life of St Paul’s. Growth is really happening and the attendance at our Sunday morning services is now regularly well over 400 (on 9 May it even reached 592!). It is also a much used mid-week facility for a wide variety of activities. We give God the glory for his miraculous provision of this superb building to help us grow his kingdom.

Phase 2: SP2 (St Paul’s 2nd Site) has a new change of direction from the refurbishment and redevelopment of the existing buildings to a joint venture agreement with a developer. The original option would have been expensive and would still have left us with a Victorian building. But a new building is a better plan, because it will:

Finance: we thank God for his wonderful provision for this project. At the end of February 2010 the position was as follows:

This balance is after all committed expenses have been met and all loans repaid, but there will be additional needs for the fitting out of the new SP2 building.

Support: we can all be involved in ETT through:

Legal process – agreement and lease

      Finance – church and developer

Design – SP2 and residential flats

      God’s plan to be accomplished.
