King's Glory Primary School

graduation.jpgHi, this is Fishy here. I thought you might be interested in hearing about King's Glory Primary School. This is a small primary school begun in a rural community about 20km from Jinja in Uganda. It is set up in a poor area where many parents dont send their children to school as they would either have to cross a very busy main road or a river..also many parents dont value education.

The image gallery on the right has scenes from King’s Glory Speech Day November 25th 2009, the party took place on our new site. Twenty students graduated from nursery school to Primary One. We now have purpose built classrooms ..not yet divided- but as you can see a lot more space and the land belongs to the school.

The final enrolment for the third term was 200 pupils which is amazing for our first year.

Challenges for 2010 include;

Building:

·         a second classroom block

·         a permanent hostel for the boarders [boys & girls]

Renovating:

·         Classrooms-cementing the floors, plastering & painting the walls

Registration:

·         Registering the school with the government -lots of red tape & requirements!
