Half way through the year

 Dear All

Here we are in the middle of the year and astonished at how God has helped us carry out 5 prayer rooms (1 in Cuba, 3 in Cartagena and one in Cali). 

Each one has had a different focus and feel and in all we have sensed the Lord carrying the lion's share of the load and the Lion's authority over the prayer room itself and the work that has come out of each. (see newsletter ...)

We're just off out...

 to one of the most important squares in Cartagena. Let me explain:

There are elections coming up for the Youth Council, which sits in consultation with the Mayoress of Cartagena, on all aspects of city life which concern the young people.

50th Anniversary.....!

Black Market?

To survive in Cuba it is nigh on impossible not to use the black market. They have two currencies in circulation (national peso MN, and convertible peso CUC). The vast majority of people are paid in the national money, worth 1/24th of the CUC, which is worth about $1USD. But more and more things are being sold in CUC.

Last one before we go....

We are getting ready to go to Cuba for 3 weeks of investing in the Christians there. Sandro has been going there since before the beginnings of the YWAM Cuba. Now they have a team and to date they have had more than 40 people go through the (Discipleship Training School) DTS programme. Unlike most places it runs for a year, meeting in blocks of 2 or 3 weeks at a time. The feeling is that Cuba is ripe for change and we need to get the Cuban team ready for when that happens so they can be a strong influence for God and His Kingdom.

Current News from Deborah and Sandro

Another part of our heart is in Cuba. Sandro has more than 15 years of investment in the Christian community there and we both want to continue to invest in that nation. We will be there for the month of May (finances permitting) to be part of a number of events. If you want to know more about these, please ask and we can talk.
