To survive in Cuba it is nigh on impossible not to use the black market. They have two currencies in circulation (national peso MN, and convertible peso CUC). The vast majority of people are paid in the national money, worth 1/24th of the CUC, which is worth about $1USD. But more and more things are being sold in CUC.

We are looking for individuals willing to share something of what God has done in their lives for the evening service of Sunday 27th June, which will focus on Praise and Testimony.
Psalm 145 tells us, "One generation will commend you works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts... All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you. They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendour of your kingdom."

Are you ever involved in leading small groups, mid-sized groups, SPAT teams or other church-related ministries? If you ever copy or re-produce magazine articles, book excerpts or song words/music, we need to know about it.

Getting up early to pray can be hard... but Jesus did it: "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed" (Mark 1:35). However hard it is though, God is always faithful to meet his people and to speak to us. Why not join us some time to find out for yourself?

Are you one of the many church members who occasionally caters from home for a church group or event held on the church premises? Whether you just make a cake or something more complicated don't forget that as a church we need to keep in mind the guidelines set out by the Environmental Health Department.

400 people packed St Paul’s for David Robinson’s pantomime adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” on the evening of Tuesday 22nd December. Everything you expect from a traditional panto was included in the show, (“oh yes it was!”) with Long John Silver wooing Mrs Whalebone with Tom Jones’ hits and Captain Smollett trying some classic Cliff to win her hand. Meanwhile Jim Hawkins was taken prisoner on Treasure Island.

Sunday 20th December saw the church fill with people 'flocking' to this year's Christmas services (excuse the Christmas pun). Seats were filled both morning and evening as families gathered for a live nativity story in the morning and people of all backgrounds worshipped together for the candlelit evening service.

This Advent we have produced various resources to help you 'make Advent count'. If you didn't pick up an Advent card in Church on Sunday there is a copy here for you to download. You can also download a copy of the Advent Spiritual Health Check or if you would prefer you can pick up a paper copy in church.
More Advent resources are available in church (address list and newsletters for our missionaries, leaflets about local charities and fairtrade, carol service invites).

There were groups of St Paulites at both New Wine A and B this year. New Wine is a week of teaching and worship held at the Bath and Wells showground about an hour from Salisbury. Both groups enjoyed a week of inspiring talks and worship and endured the English summer.
I had the privilege of following Mike Breen's series on Kingdom and Covenant in the mornings. As with most of the teaching at New Wine he was inspiring and practical in terms of helping us grow in faith.
