Children at St Paul's

We offer a range of groups for children from birth to eleven years old. Through sharing activities and fun with others, we aim to encourage children, at their own level, to develop a relationship with Jesus, learn to pray and discover the Bible.

We aim to do this by:

Sundays…

Nursery (birth to pre-toddler)

The nursery is for pre-toddler babies and their parents/guardians and is situated at the back of the church. The room is soundproofed and adults can follow the service via a TV. It also contains toys and nappy-changing facilities.

Sparks (toddlers up to age 3)

sparks 80x28 colour.pngSparks is for toddlers up to 3 years old and meets on the ground floor of the Church Centre in the Maundrell Room. The toddlers are brought out part way through the morning service and are signed in and out by their parents/guardians to ensure safety.

Sparks is often children’s first experience of ‘church’ and lays the foundation for them belonging to God’s family. Through prayer, play and Bible story telling, the team aim to show God’s love for the children in their care.

COG's (ages 3-7)

COGs smile 80x50 red.pngCOG’s are Children of God’s, aged 3 to 7. COG’s children also leave part way through the morning service and meet in the Fisherton Hall in the Church Centre. For the safety of the children, parents/guardians are responsible for signing their children in and out of the session.

The team come alongside the children as they grow and develop in their knowledge and love of Jesus. We worship, pray, play, hear stories from the Bible and get creative together. Part way through the session, COG’s 1 (ages 3-5) go upstairs to the Clifton Room, from where their parents/guardians collect them at the end of the service.

Focus (ages 7-11, school years 3-6)

focus 80x35 blue.pngFocus is for children aged 7-11 (school years 3 to 6). Part way through the service Focus children meet in the church foyer and are then escorted across to the Youth Hall by the team, via the subway. At the end of the service they are escorted back to the church to meet up with their parents/guardians.

Focus begins to go deeper into the Bible and starts to explore how being a Christian makes a difference to our lives. The team finds fun ways of teaching Bible truths, praying and being creative. Most Sundays Focus splits into two groups: Focus 1 for school years 3 and 4, and Focus 2 for school years 5 and 6.

Each term we enjoy Fun Focus sessions together – anything from DVD nights to camping!
